About Folly Beach Pier

The Folly Beach Pier works on both sides on all swells. It breaks a little longer and farther out than the Washout, and on northeast/southwest winds it might be a little cleaner -- but more crowded. The south side typically has better sand and longer lefts. Pretty much your standard East Coast pier, but not as packed as the Washout. During the summertime the beach is pretty packed, and all manner of human flotsam litter the inside.
